Christmas Blog Hop Day 9

Gooood morning everyone :) it is a beautiful December day and today I have been chosen to be Door number 9 in https://serendipitousstitching.blogspot.com/ 2018 Christmas Blog Hop
Jo asked us to say what was our favourite  Christmas Music memory was and to show a photo of some Christmas Stitching we had done sooooo
At the mouse house when the wee meecies were very little every Christmas Eve we would play my Pinky and Perky Record  as it was full of Christmas Songs and they loved it as much as I did as a child … well sadly I cannot play it any more atm as although we do have the record we don't have a record player … that will be remedied one day …
Now as a " grown " up one of my favourite songs is the one done between David Bowie and Bing Crosby which is two songs combined together Peace on Earth and Little Drummer Boy … if you type it in it will come up with them on You Tube to watch … I am listening to it now,  ….. see below ...
Many Moons ago I actually sung "In the Bleak Midwinter" for local radio station in their studios in Preston Lancashire … somewhere I have a copy on a tape ...I love singing Christmas Carols and Songs and can still do a passable descant on certain ones ..lol

We are at the mouse house today are actually getting the house looking festive so I may be able to pop some extra photos up later but here is one of my pieces that I have stitched .. Holly & the Ivy by Little House Needleworks which will be hung out later in my craft room ...

Hope you have enjoyed your visit today and I shall be back soon with what has been going on here at the mouse house and show lots of wonderful stitchy goodness too :)
take care one and all :) love mouse xxxxxx

a couple of trips away ... and some stitching

Helllooo everyone :) grab a chair and a brew .. there should be some cookies too :) ..since I last squeaked I have been on two trips … one to Wales near Llanbedr and the other London … DH and I took a trip over to Wales as he had a job to do so we booked into a lovely Guest House over looking the sea and while he was working I explored and did some stitching and then on the night time we went into Barmouth and I took some lovely shots of the harbour after our meal in the Indian .. which was lovely btw …
DD1 and I took a day trip to London last weekend and we had a fabulous day despite the rain, we scooted on and off the tube, went to Covent Garden found a fab Harry Potter shop that sold LOR and GOT stuff too, got to see the British Science Museum … outside of it, as the queue to get in was a tad long and we didn't think we could get round in the time we had left at this point, called in at Harrods which was lovely, we strolled along Oxford Street seeing Selfridges and DD went into John Lewis's to build her own Quality Street tin ...lol
We had a Macmillan day at work on Friday and raised £112.00 not bad considering and I just had to have a slice or two of the cakes on offer ….
The weather has certainly started to be more fall like with misty mornings and a touch of frost on the grass and flowers and the temps have started to come down... the trees are all turning to beautiful russet browns and greens with the odd bit of copper in them.. I do love this time of year …
Stitching wise I can't really show you much as most of the things I have been doing are for Birthday/ Christmas presents for a few peeps ...I have only got a few more to do then they are going to be sent on their merry way and be early and organised for once hahahahha.. I have been working on Scissors by Cherrywood Designs part of the dictionary series and made a new start on With Thy Needle and Threads " Sew a needle pulling thread" I started the grass and have done the magnificent amount of … wait for it ...  20 stitches hahahahah and done a wee bit more on my " Merry Mouse" as well
I was talking to Sally today as she had a query re a finish and wanted someone else to clarify what she had read was right … can't wait to see the finish Sally.. we had a right good natter and must do it again soon :) and I said to her I really must get a blog post up sooo here we are ...lol … I have taken a few autumnal photos so will bob them up as well …

Stitching and finishing the days away

Well hello everyone … bet you thought I had fallen off the blog world as it has been a rather long time since I updated you all on everything …. I have been really busy with the stitching front and finishing things off as well … you will be impressed .. I have got all my "presents" for work stitched finished and handed out … made a few things up that needed finishing , stitched a couple of smalls for a gift but can't show that as of yet, made a bag for Roz …, made a project bag and matching smaller bag just because ..lol ... been away to Blackpool and back and saw the Lancaster Bomber, got to see a Spitfire called Rebecca very close up and then a Dakota flew over the mouse house the other day too …
And in between all of that I have been working and done the Function Skills English test level 2 and swotting up on the same one for Maths too ….test yet to be done, as well as going to the NEC for the Festival of Quilts show where I bumped into Stuart Hillard, Sherrie Falls and another nice lady who's name escapes me for the moment but I am sure you will be able to tell me who she is ..lol..... just had a brain wave and she is called Sarah Payne :)
SOoo have you got your cuppa's ready ??? I have some cookies and if you look in the cupboard there may be some cake left.
The Festival of Quilts was a lovely show and we got to see the 300yr old quilt as well .. it was amazing how bright it was and some of the pieces with it still had papers in too ...I got a small amount of stash enhancement … not much as apart from being skint hahaha I am also trying to work from stash I already have to stitch with and make up too .. and so far so good … I decided to have a go at making a project bag and I was sooo impressed that I did it I can see more being made in the future for possible gifts as well :)
I started Hands on Design " Stitching is my Hearts Desire " yesterday and fully finished it off today … and started it again because I can on different fabric but with the same threads and different finishing fabbie ..
Today is the 3rd anniversary since I lost my dad and so I decided that it was a good day to get things finished off … my dad loved to see my work and would often give his choice of colourways on things too … so I thought it was rather fitting that I should get stuff done. DH helped with cutting the mount board for me :)
